Challenge Card: Spring Butterflies

My second post today is a Challenge card. I just couldn't wait to share it with you--Spring is in the air!

Today's card was so much fun to make. The weather here in Minnesota was finally warm! Monday was bitter and snowy, and then boom, Tuesday is in the 50's! YAY! The day gave me hope that Spring really is starting even if it's delayed by Minnesota timing. I decided to make a card that fit my mood as well as a number of card challenges out there. I'm in a shabby chic mood, so I did inking to distress a lot of the elements on the card; the paper, the butterflies, and even the flowers! I got inky with it! :0) I embossed, used pearls, Stickles glitter, and various different brads and buttons to add to the look of the card. I made the flower under the purple butterlfy with the vintage pearl brad on it from my 5 petal flower punch from Stampin Up! I inked and curled the edges for more appeal. I used three Stampin Up! stamp sets for the card: Elements of Style for the flowers on the center butterfly, Delight in Life for the flourish on the smaller butterflies, and Cheery Chat for the Birthday greeting on the front and inside of the card.
