Challenge Card: Circle Easel Card

Today’s card is a circle easel card that I made using the Faux Pressed Flower tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers (Have I mentioned that I LOVE THAT PLACE?). It was the first time that I tried the technique and I really like the look it creates. I certainly learned something though. I had heat embossed the flower on the scallop circle, and I found that after running the card through my Cuttlebug that some of the ink and embossing came off and stuck to my embossing folder. I actually thought about redoing the image, but I kind of like the “missing” chunks from the flower.

In celebration of the great weather we’ve been experiencing here in Minnesota, I decided to make a cheery card with the colors of Spring. I used the flower from Heartfelt Thanks by Stampin Up. My colors were Orchid Opulence and Mellow Moss. I stamped the moss circle with the main image flower in Versamark at lots of different angles. I used my flower trio punch and placed two of the flowers next to my stamped image. I carried my Spring them into the center of the card making my “Stopper” a trio of flower stacks. I curled the petals of the flowers to give them a bit more depth.

I really like the look of the flowers and imags being "pressed" into the background.
